I like that Christmas (the celebration; pagan or Christian) is three days after the solstice, so 21 is the start of the solstice,then 3 days of &#039;&#039;standing still&#039;&#039; (22,23,24) and then Hip hip Christmas! Only problem here is if the sun does not change its position for 3/4 days then how come the 21 is the shortest? Nice story anyway.</description>

		<description>Nice post. Not many people are aware of the significance of the Winter Solstice. People still think Jesus is the reason for the season - hate to break it to you but Solstice is actually the primary reason for the season. Jesus the Son/Sun, perhaps is the deferred reason if indeed it is true that his story is based on astrological metaphor. Given that after Solstice, the Son/Sun is &#039;reborn&#039; by rising through the constellation of Virgo (Virgin) there&#039;s a lot that points to this being the case. Winter Solstice is the reason for the season!! Merry Yuletide ;-)</description>
