Critics Chiming In on Wal-Mart’s ‘Green’ Moves

Despite keeping a close eye on responses to Wal-Mart’s recent announcment of new environmental initiatives, I managed to miss this Grist article that provides an overview of responses by environmental activists. Alternet has reprinted it, and it’s interesting to see the variety of responses coming out of the environmental community. Most are dismissive; a few are dismissive but hopeful. Again, I tend to think that Wal-Mart’s business model makes genuine sustainability (or even a mere imitation of it) a pipe dream…
